Welcome to The Travel Chica site. I'm Stephanie. At the age of 29, I started my solo travel sabbatical through Latin America, and this site is where I share my experiences with friends, family, and you.I write about independent travel and my attempt to live simpler, consume less, and experience more. While everyone was still speculating about what would happen in Torres del Paine National Park, I took a walk by the water to clear my head. Our final day of trekking was a tough one. Not because of the terrain or the distance or even that it was all ascending. I got a taste of that infamous Patagonian wind. And it kicked my ass. The day started out much cooler and a bit windier than the first two days of trekking.

Maybe I am exaggerating a little. But since I’ve been on the road again, I am back to cooking most of my meals in hostel kitchens. These meals are usually quite simple because I am not the best cook nor do I want to buy a lot of ingredients that will get thrown out when

It is hard to describe our first two days of long treks. Seeing the Perito Moreno Glacier was an overwhelming and exciting experience. The trekking in El Chalten has been completely different. Challenging? Yes, at times. I have enjoyed the physical challenge of it. During our first two long treks, we covered about 44 kilometers.
