Now that we’ve all had a good laugh over the miseries I suffered trekking to the End of the World, I will share some happy photos.

We awoke on Day 4 worried.

I think we were all afraid (I was certainly terrified) at what Mother Nature may throw at us.  Luckily, it was not raining.  And after our first early morning river crossing, the sun actually came out to help us warm our numb feet.  Day 4 was long and difficult, but it was 100 times better than Day 3.

We awoke on Day 5 hopeful but still not trusting Mother Nature.

It was a beautiful day.  We finally saw why people actually put themselves through this rigorous and dangerous trek.

Cabo Froward Trek in Photos … on a Good Day

This is what I saw when I stepped out of my tent on Day 5.

My oatmeal with raisins and peanuts tasted much better than it had the previous 3 mornings.

There were lots of crab shells on the beach.

We even saw dolphins!

The lighthouse.

Even though it hurts, this means were are about halfway through the final day.

Yea!  We didn’t die!My Reward

When we got back to Punta Arenas, we wanted food.  And lots of it.

I ate this entire pizza.

I didn’t even feel miserable afterwards.  Just satisfied.

If I could go back in time, I would NOT go on this hike even though we did have 1 1/2 days of beautiful views.

Have you had a similar experience where the good did not outweigh the bad?
