The slogan and image crack me up every time.

Today I am sharing a great tool for saving money on your travels.

This is a tool I will be regularly using when I get to the end of my Latin America travel sabbatical.  It can save me money on my flight back home.

It can help me save money on the weekend getaways and vacations that I plan to take once I return to the “normal world” and stop taking 28-hour bus rides in South America.

What is this clever free tool that everyone can use to save money on travel?

TravelScout

TravelScout is a browser extension that informs you of available discounts and coupon codes for the travel websites you visit.  Check out more details about how Travel Scout works on the Travelated website.

My Experience

When Travelated first released the Firefox version of TravelScout several months ago, I immediately downloaded it.  I like the fact that it is not obtrusive in any way.  If a discount or coupon code is available, a small message drops down at the top of your browser.   If you are interested, you simply click on the link provided.  If you’re not interested, you can ignore it and keep on doing whatever super-important web-surfing you are doing.

I now know of a lot of discounts I can get when the need arises for flights, hotels, rental cars, restaurants, and even hostels and buses.  TravelScout has discounts for over 50 popular travel-related websites, and it’s still growing.

How to Get Your Discounts

It’s free, so there really is no reason not to download it.

Extensions are available here for IE, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari.

You can thank me later for letting you know about this awesome tool :-)

Happy travels!
